A heritage rooted in history

The history of Château Moulinet is closely intertwined with that of the Pomerol appellation. It is one of the oldest properties in the region, as well as one of the largest. The Pomerol vineyard spans 800 hectares and is located on the right bank of Bordeaux, near Saint-Émilion. Despite its small size, the Pomerol appellation is one of the most renowned and includes one of the most famous wines in the world: Pétrus. Pomerol wines are known for their high quality and are distinguished by their remarkable elegance, roundness, and finesse.

Château Moulinet

Located on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, the site was a stop for the Knights Hospitaller in the 12th century. Among other medieval relics, a stone marked with the Maltese Cross, visible in the property's park, bears witness to its rich history.

Several prominent families from Libourne have owned the estate over the years. Until the 1980s, it was managed by the Seguin family, before being acquired by the Moueix family in 1971. Under their guidance, significant material investments were made, including the construction of a new winery and a new fermentation facility. In 2017, Château Moulinet was purchased by a private investor with a passion for wine. Frédéric Redon, as Technical Director, expertly and precisely represents this new chapter.
